Online Psychiatry in Orlando, FL
Psychiatric evaluation, medication management, and therapy support by secure video, without giving up an afternoon to I-4. Available to anyone physically located in Florida.
Psychiatric care that fits an Orlando schedule
Orlando runs on shifts that don't respect a nine-to-five clinic. Theme-park and hospitality staff clock in at hours most psychiatry offices are closed. Nurses at ORMC and AdventHealth rotate nights. Lake Nona commuters lose an hour each way. Meanwhile, the wait for a new-patient psychiatric appointment in Central Florida is often measured in months, not weeks.
Telehealth removes the two barriers that stop most people: the drive and the calendar. A follow-up that takes 25 minutes should cost you 25 minutes, not 25 minutes plus parking, plus a wait, plus the drive back down Colonial. You log in from home, from a break room, or from a parked car, and you're seen.
You'll also see the same provider each visit. That continuity matters more than almost anything else in psychiatric care: someone who remembers what you tried in the spring, why it didn't work, and what your life actually looks like right now.
How an Orlando telehealth visit works
Everything happens through SimplePractice, a HIPAA-compliant platform used by mental health practices nationwide. After you book, you'll complete your intake paperwork online: history, current medications, insurance, and consent, so your appointment isn't spent on forms.
Your first visit is a 60-minute psychiatric evaluation. We go through your history, current symptoms, what's already been tried, medical conditions and medications that matter, and, most importantly, what you actually want to be different. You leave with a plan you agreed to, not one handed to you.
If medication is part of that plan, prescriptions are sent electronically to whichever pharmacy is easiest for you: the Publix near your apartment, the CVS on your commute, or a mail-order plan through your insurer. Follow-ups run 20–30 minutes, typically every two to four weeks while we're adjusting, then spaced further apart once things settle.
Conditions we treat for Orlando patients
Telehealth handles the overwhelming majority of outpatient psychiatric care. Common reasons Central Florida patients reach out:
- Anxiety and panic: generalized anxiety, social anxiety, panic attacks, and the physical symptoms that send people to urgent care convinced something is wrong with their heart.
- Depression: including the flat, functional kind where you're still going to work and still not okay.
- ADHD: evaluation and ongoing management for adults and older teens, including people diagnosed late after a lifetime of being called disorganized.
- PTSD and trauma: trauma-informed care for combat, medical, childhood, and interpersonal trauma.
- Bipolar disorder: mood stabilization, medication monitoring, and planning around early warning signs.
- Insomnia: sleep problems on their own or tangled up with anxiety, depression, and rotating shift work.
Who this is for in Orlando
UCF students. With one of the largest student bodies in the country, campus counseling in Orlando is stretched thin, and session limits are real. Telehealth gives you a psychiatric provider who isn't tied to the academic calendar, useful when finals week is exactly when things fall apart, and useful again when you go home to Tampa or Miami for the summer and want the same provider.
Hospitality and theme-park workers. Rotating shifts wreck sleep, and wrecked sleep makes everything else worse. A video visit fits into a weekday gap between shifts. No drive on either end, so being seen costs you half an hour instead of half a day.
Healthcare workers. Orlando's hospital systems employ tens of thousands of people who spend their careers telling other people to take care of themselves. A private video visit from home is often the only version of care that actually gets scheduled.
Commuters and parents. If you live in Winter Garden, Kissimmee, Oviedo, or Lake Nona, you already know what a mid-afternoon appointment downtown costs you. This costs you the length of the appointment.
Coverage
Insurance for Orlando telehealth
Accepted plans differ between our Navarre and Crestview offices. Check the page for the office you'll be seen at.
Our Navarre office accepts Blue Cross Blue Shield, Aetna, Cigna, United Healthcare, UMR, VA CCN, Ascension Smart Health, Curative, and CHAMPVA, and sees TRICARE patients as an out-of-network provider. Most carriers cover telehealth psychiatry at the same rate as an in-office visit, worth confirming, since Central Florida employers use a wide mix of plans.
Paying privately is straightforward too: the same rates apply whether you're seen by video or in the Navarre office, and superbills are available if you want to seek out-of-network reimbursement.
Not all plans cover mental health services. Please check with your insurance provider for coverage and any out-of-pocket costs.

Common questions
Orlando telehealth FAQ
Can I get an ADHD evaluation over telehealth in Orlando?
Yes. ADHD evaluation is done through a structured clinical interview covering childhood history, current symptoms across settings, and rating scales you complete before your visit, all of which works over video. If stimulant medication is appropriate, prescribing follows Florida and federal rules for controlled substances, which can include additional monitoring or an in-person requirement. We'll be clear about what applies to you at your first appointment.
Do you have an office in Orlando?
No. Our physical offices are in Navarre and Crestview, in the Florida Panhandle, and Orlando patients are seen entirely by telehealth. That's an advantage in practice. You get access to a provider without competing for appointments with everyone else in Orange County.
I'm a UCF student. Can I keep seeing you over the summer?
Yes, as long as you're physically located in Florida for the appointment. If you go home to another state for the summer, we'd need to pause until you're back. State licensure follows where you are during the visit, not where you're enrolled.
How soon can I be seen?
New-patient availability is usually far shorter than the months-long waits common at Central Florida practices. Care is by appointment only: send a request and our office comes back to you with times, including evening and weekend slots when they're offered.
Which pharmacy will my prescription go to?
Whichever one you choose. Prescriptions are sent electronically to any pharmacy in Florida: retail, grocery, or your insurer's mail-order service. Just bring the name and cross streets to your visit.
