Insurance, rates, and billing
No surprises. Here's exactly what we accept, what things cost without insurance, and who to call with a billing question.
Accepted plans
Insurance we accept

out of network
TRICARE: we see TRICARE patients as an out-of-network provider. TRICARE Select works directly. TRICARE Prime needs a referral, and you would be responsible for the balance until you reach your deductible.
Please note: Not all plans cover mental health services. Please check with your insurance provider for coverage and any out-of-pocket costs.
Without insurance
Self-pay options available
If you're paying out of pocket, or your plan isn't one we accept, self-pay options are available for every service we offer: initial psychiatric evaluations, follow-up medication management, and extended sessions.
Current rates are provided when you book, and before any charge is made. Ask at any point and we'll walk you through exactly what a visit will cost.
Superbills are available for out-of-network reimbursement. Ask and we'll provide the documentation your insurer needs to reimburse you directly.
Payment methods
We keep a card on file through our EHR, SimplePractice, and charge it when services are rendered.
If you're not comfortable keeping a card on file, we accept exact cash at the time of your visit.
Billing questions
Billing questions come straight to us. Call (850) 842-7835 and mention it's about billing.
Behind the scenes, Therassist, our billing service, helps us submit claims and resolve denials. It's also worth checking your own plan's mental health coverage before your first visit.

Cancellation policy
We require 24 hours' notice to cancel or reschedule an appointment.
No-shows or late cancellations may be charged a $50–$75 fee. Life happens. If something comes up, let us know as early as you can and we'll do our best to work with you.
Common questions
Insurance & billing FAQ
How do I know if my plan covers mental health?
Call the member services number on the back of your insurance card and ask about your outpatient mental health benefits, specifically your copay, deductible, and whether telehealth is covered the same as in-person visits. Not all plans cover mental health services.
Do you charge my card automatically?
Yes. We keep a card on file through SimplePractice and charge it when services are rendered. If you'd rather not keep a card on file, you can pay with exact cash at your visit instead.
What is a superbill and how do I use it?
A superbill is an itemized receipt with the diagnostic and procedure codes your insurer needs. If we're out of network with your plan, you pay the self-pay amount, then submit the superbill to your insurance company for possible partial reimbursement. Ask us and we'll provide one.
Is telehealth billed differently from an in-person visit?
Most plans cover telehealth at the same rate as an in-person visit, and self-pay is billed the same either way. Coverage rules vary by carrier, so confirm with your plan before your appointment.
Who do I contact about a bill I don't understand?
Call the office at (850) 842-7835 and mention it's about billing. We handle billing questions ourselves; Therassist, our billing service, helps behind the scenes with claims.
